‘Mariana Trench’ Music Video 

Bright Eyes needed a music video for their comeback track, and they reached out to Art Camp. Working during the thick of the pandemic, a team of 20 people animated over 2,000 individual watercolor paintings, that represented each frame of the music. We took ‘every frame a painting’ quite literally.

We developed a novel process as a result of the lockdowns — the 3D team working across the world would make the final edit, and then hand it over to a team of 10 animators who would paint the frames in their houses, scan and upload them, and the main edit team based in NYC produced the final output.

My role:
I worked as a 3D animation intern on this video. I worked on the 3D previz shots which were then painted over by the 2D team.
