COLORFUL 2023 Brand Identity


COLORFUL is a first-of-its-kind grant and awards program started by Rich Tu for emerging creatives from BIPOC communities, with a focus on industry inclusivity, creating new financial opportunities, and eliminating entry barriers for elite competitions. In its third year, Sunday Afternoon partnered with The One Club for Creativity and collaborated with Tré Seals of Vocal Type Foundry on an energetic campaign identity, featuring a custom typeface inspired by spectrums of light.

My Role:
I led the design of the brand identity. I made the main key visual, the 3D assets and the overall design system. I was inspired to make a motion forward identity that blends in cohesively across mediums — at the event, on social, on the website and print as well.

I came up with the idea to build an interactive web showcase of the typeface, something that the studio had never done before. I worked closely with a developer on our team to come up with a neat and simple solution. You can try it here below:
